What is a birthkeeper, and how is it different from a midwife or doula?
A midwife is a licensed medical professional who provides clinical prenatal care and manages the medical aspects of your birth. A doula is a trained support person who advocates for you within the medical system. A birthkeeper goes a step further — she holds the full sacred space of your birth journey. I am not a medical provider and do not offer clinical care, but I walk alongside you from 37 weeks through your postpartum season as a companion, educator, and faith-filled support. I believe birth is designed by God and that you were made to do this.
Do you replace my midwife or OB?
No — and I never would. I work beautifully alongside your midwife, OB, or any other medical provider you choose. My role is not clinical. I am there for your emotional, spiritual, and physical comfort — to hold your hand, pray over you, and help you feel seen, heard, and supported every step of the way.
What types of births do you support?
I support home births, hospital births, and birth center births. Every birth is sacred — whether you deliver in the comfort of your home or in a hospital room, you deserve to feel cherished and cared for. I will show up for you wherever that is.

Faith & Prayer
Is Joyful Birthing faith-based? Do I have to share your beliefs?
Joyful Birthing is rooted in Christ-centered care. My faith shapes everything I do — the way I see you, the way I show up, and the love I bring into your birth space. That said, you do not have to share my beliefs to work with me. Every mama is welcome here. You will simply be loved well.
Why is prayer such an important part of your care?
Birth is one of the most powerful and vulnerable moments of a woman's life. I believe that inviting God into that space brings a peace that nothing else can. Prayer is how I release fear, invite His presence, and cover you and your baby throughout every stage — from our first meeting to your postpartum days. It is not an add-on to my care; it is woven into everything I do."

Booking & Service Area
When should I reach out to book you?
The sooner the better! Birth dates are unpredictable and I can only take a limited number of clients each month to ensure I can be fully present for you. I recommend reaching out as early as possible — even well before 37 weeks — to get on my calendar. My active support begins at 37 weeks, but I love connecting with families early so we can build a relationship before your birth day arrives.
Where do you serve?
I am based in Springboro, Ohio and serve families within approximately one hour — including the greater Dayton area, Cincinnati, and the communities in between.

What is birth photography and do I have to add it?
Birth photography is the art of capturing the sacred, raw beauty of your birth story — from active labor through those very first moments with your baby. It is completely optional and can be added to your birthkeeping services or booked on its own. Many families tell me it is one of the most treasured gifts they have ever given themselves.
